Isn't she gorgeous?? I fell in love. My husband says "It's kind of ugly, isn't it". I almost smacked him! Nevertheless, I convinced hom to buy it for me at the whopping price of $6.96. Yeppers people, $7.00 whole dollars!!! Can you believe that? I really thought it was a little high...but I loved it so much!
Now, I get it home and I find a makers tag on it. Hmmm....maybe a little investigation is in order here.
I looked Kennebunk Weavers up online, and called them. A very nice woman named Connie said to email her pictures and she would see what she could find out. Barely 20 minutes later, I get an email. The blanket's name is "Casablanca". IT HAS A NAME?!? For real? So cool. She also told me it hadn't been made since approximately 2004-05, that it was made of mohair and cotton and that it was one of their highest end blankets. I checked out this website people. The highest end is $159.99!!! No lie, I swear. I was in shock. BTW, I ended up tweeting the company and asked that Connie be given some kudos for being so helpful, so fast. Here's some closeups..
Ok, so now here is my dilemna, and I need all of your help. Do I keep the lovely blanket, or do I sell it to help finance my blog and Etsy business? Because we are so broke I NEED to come up with some alternate ways of getting cash for this. And IF I sell it, how much should I be looking for? It measure 52x338 and is in near perfect condition. A teeny bit stretched at the corners, where you would hold it to fold, but otherwise perfect. All opinions are welcome!
