Home Made Orange De-greaser - LOVE this recipe!!

Orange De-greaser! I've barely seen anything about this around the web.....some, but not at all like the laundry recipes or the other cleaner recipes like my All Purpose Spray. OF COURSE I think mine are best, but who knows? I'm just prejudiced like that LOL! Orange De-greaser!! Excellent stuff!! Ok, I think I'm over the exclamation points now. Hopefully anyway.

This is an easy recipe to make, so so simple. Here's what you need;
A jug
orange peels
vinegar
time

That's it! (whoops, another exclamation point. I can't help it,, this one is so exciting).

Save your orange peels (could be any citrus but I prefer orange). Put them in a jug, and cover them with vinegar. Add more orange peels over the space of a week or more. If need be, add more vinegar to keep all the peels covered. Shake the jug every day to mix everything up.

After about 2 weeks, the smell of vinegar should be completely gone, nothing remaining but the scent of citrus. Strain the mixture to remove any last bits of pulp or membrane from the orange. Now it is ready to use!

Pour the orange liquid into a spray bottle. You can add water to fill the bottle, or more vinegar if you wish, or just leave it straight orange cleaner. Now get to cleaning!

My favorite place to hit with this is over the stove, the top of the range! ALWAYS sticky with grease. This mix cuts right through it. I keep a jug going all the time and keep it under the sink for quick refills to my spray bottle.

I hope you love this recipe as much as I do, and find it a great addition to your cleaning arsenal. Feel free to contact me with any questions, either by commenting below or emailing me at scrapityanne@gmail.com

  1. Awesome recipe! I'm definitely going to try this one. A little known added bonus - orange oil is a flea repellent. We learned this after moving into our new home and discovering the previous occupants left it infested with fleas. Gross!!

      Thanks Heather! I'm sure you'll really love it. And I didn't know that about fleas! That's excellent info,because my dogs have been covered lately and now the cat has them too. Uggg! Now I know how to get rid of them! Yay! Thanks for the stop-by and the comment.
