My husband brought this to me with a big grin on his sweet face. "Can you use this for your recipes and cleaners"? This is why I love this man btw.

The preface starts out with "One hundred years ago....men were men, held together with spit, glue, brine and whisky, while women were made of even sterner stuff"
I almost screeched with laughter when I read that!!! Right there in the store. Oh man that's funny stuff right there. Two sections in the book are of interest to me. Part Two - Folk remedies. I've had this nagging cough, for MONTHS! Been on antibiotics, taking cough syrups and pills and drops and on and on. Maybe Granny can recommend something better!
Part Three - Care of the House and Farm. Lots of recipes in there it looks like. Even has a section on cosmetiques....wow, thought those were against the rules one hundred years ago!
I'm vaguely interested in part one which is basically a cook book. Lots of recipes, but I'm a lousy cook. Yeah, really I am. Hubby is the feeder of the masses around here. OH, but the section in there about spiritous liquors might be great! It talks about how to make all kinds of beers and ales and liquors and then finishes off talking about "Man and Animal vs Demon Booze" Hilarious!!
And I'm definitely not interested in Part Four - Remedies for Farm Animals. No cows wandering around here at all. And Part Five - Weights and Measures doesn't do it for me either.
All in all, at $2.50 it's a good find, and if nothing else, a good laugh!
Hope you enjoyed talking about Granny's remedies with me. Have an awesome Super Bowl Sunday! GO PATRIOTS!!!! (I may live in GA now, but you can't take the Boston out of this girl, no way!)
