Frugal Friday - Goodwill Goodies!

Every week I stop by my 2 local thrift stores, Goodwill and Salvation Army. For my little town in GA I think they are both a bit overpriced. Especially since they rarely have any great deals or higher end items. But, I search anyway.....this week I decided to go to the Goodwill in the next town East of me. Much bigger, neater, so much more to choose from (at least where clothes are concerned) and friendlier staff. Here's my Frugal Friday Roundup;

4 cut glass cups - $2.50 but had the half off color of the week, so $1.25! I planned to use them for candles, but my son wants to use them for eggnog this year. Okey dokey son!

A large Pfaltzgraff (did I spell that right?) platter in dark blue. $2.42. Can you imagine?? I was so excited. The picture is terrible, and I'm not sure why. I'm no photographer, but my pics aren't usually this bad.

A very large glass mug that says "World's Greatest Dad". $1.21. I snatched that baby up as I looked around me to make sure no one else wanted to take my treasure! Crazy, I know. But I've been desperate to find more gifts for my husband and so excited to find something. I think I'm going to fill it with a can of root beer and a picture of ice cream.

A picture holder, like the Pottery Barn ones. $3.94. LOVE this. Decided to put my Xmas cards in it....as soon as they show up! LOL, I have 2 cards so far and they are in the picture holder on my hall table.

A brand new shaker jar....you know like restaurants use for parmesan cheese. I plan to put my homemade carpet cleaner/freshener in this one. $1.21

And the best deals I can't even show you! Because I (like a dingbat) already wrapped them. A brand new looking striped polo shirt from American Eagle for the hubby. A grey with one thin red stripe across the chest American Eagle sweater for my son. And an American Eagle polo for my son. 2 of them were $4.94 but the third was $2.47 because it was the magical color of the week sale. All of them look brand new. NEW! I know, exciting, right?

I wonder what marvels next week will bring?

  1. Wow! I love thriftstores. When I get an itch to spend, I go to them. Then I go home satisfied without breaking the bank. :-)
