My First Tutorial

I thought I'd try a tutorial...on my soy tarts!

Step 1 - spend ridiculous amounts of $ on supplies 3 years ago, never use them until now. :-)

Step 2 - melt wax 1 of 2 ways

Either a coffee can in the wax melter purchased 3 years ago for about $20.
Or in a homemade double boiler made with a pan bought at Goodwill for $1.31.
Step 3 - let wax cool slightly, then add fragrance oil and color chips if desired. Scent suggestions are 1oz per 1lb of wax but I prefer to triple scent mine for better scent throw.
Step 4 - pour wax into molds
Step 5 - let wax harden on counter for at least 30-45 minutes. Then chill in fridge for maybe 5 minutes (this helps the tarts release from the molds a little more easily)
Step 6 - Package as desired

Valentine Heart Wreath - for a friend

I have seen these simple wreaths all over the blogs lately and thought I'd try my own. I think it needs patterned ribbon - what do you all think? I'm saving it for my bestest friend who is coming to visit this weekend. She can pick out the ribbon, help finish then bring it home to her girls for me. I'm SO excited she is coming, haven't seen her since I went home last summer for a Jimmy Buffett concert with her and my other bestest (my cousin). I live in GA, BFF lives in MA, and Cuz lives in FL. We get together as often as we can to party and act up! And we're GOOD at it!!! LOL!
** Please ignore my crappy photography. My friend over at The Chicky Momma has promised to give me some lessons - which is good cuz I OBVIOUSLY need them!)
