Bedroom Nightmares

Ya know how your bedroom is supposed to be your sanctuary? Your relaxation spot, cozy, romantic, a reflection of you.....yeah...mine is a reflection of me alright! MESSY! CLUTTERED! A SCARY NIGHTMARE!! I could truly be on that show Hoarders. For real.

So my newest project in the Great De-Cluttering of My Life is my bedroom. Oh....confession time. All of these pics were taken AFTER the removal of 2 trash bags full of trash, and 2 trash bags of goodwill. Told ya it was realllllyyyyy bad! I did NOT take before pics. I am open, but not stupid! Horrible is not even remotely the word for what my bedroom looked like before. It has been (one of) the dumping grounds for everything else that doesn't have a home or we are too lazy to put away.

Take a peek....
I even made the bed for this pic!! How ridiculous is that amid the clutter?

Stuff stacked on stuff...and buckets with who knows what in them...that's my nightstand covered with books!

Again - stuff stacked on stuff....that's my dresser and the hubby's nightstand. He can't even close the drawer in the nightstand.

Hubby's chest of drawers with WHO KNOWS WHAT on top since he is a major junk collector of little tool pieces, and has every receipt to every thing he has ever bought (including junk like fast food receipts) The top 2 drawers are FULL of little junk stuff. The boxes on the floor are kids clothes for me to go through and probably give to Good will or my next door neighbor since her son is a smaller size than my youngest.

And the final shot...the TV armoire with some of my Raggedy Ann collection on top. The empty trash can with a tool holder balanced on top holding a lot of tools that DO NOT belong in my bedroom. And the bookcase hiding in the corner jammed with TONS of cooking magazines that I "plan to" go through and tear out the ones I want to keep. Yeah, right.

These pics don't even show the closet which is too small because of the way the bathroom was built and is JAMMED with all of our clothes that need to be gone through and WAY too much bed linen and all of the extra blankets that also need to be purged.
Ok, enough procrastinating with the blog...I am off to reclaim my bedroom! There WILL be an update tomorrow with much nicer pics showing a clean happy bedroom.
